Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of nomadsurance.com and our insurance information service.

Last updated: 2026-05-25
Welcome to Nomadsurance. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website nomadsurance.com and the services we provide through it (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by {{ENTITYNAME}}, a company registered in Estonia under registry number {{ENTITYREGISTRYNUMBER}}, with its registered office at {{ENTITYADDRESS}} ("Nomadsurance", "we", "us", "our").
Please read these Terms carefully. They explain what we do, what we don't do, and the rules that apply when you use Nomadsurance. If anything is unclear, write to us at {{ENTITY_EMAIL}} before you continue using the Service.
1. About these Terms
1.1 Acceptance
By accessing nomadsurance.com, creating an account, submitting a request, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read these Terms, that you understand them, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1.2 Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to anyone who visits or uses Nomadsurance, whether as a casual visitor reading our guides or as a user actively comparing insurance options. Some sections — for example those about user-submitted information — only apply once you actively interact with our tools.
1.3 Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, we will notify users with an account by email or with a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the Service at any time.
1.4 Language and governing version
These Terms are written in English. Translations are provided for convenience only; the English version is the binding one.
2. Our role
This section is the most important part of these Terms. Please read it in full.
2.1 What Nomadsurance is
Nomadsurance is an information and matching platform for digital nomads, long-term travelers and globally mobile professionals. We publish editorial content about international health insurance, travel insurance and related topics, and we offer tools that help you compare options and connect with insurance carriers and licensed intermediaries who may be able to provide cover.
{{ENTITY_NAME}} is the legal entity behind the Service. The word "Broker" appears in our registered company name because that is how the entity is recorded in the Estonian commercial register. It is a name, not a description of the service we offer to you.
2.2 What Nomadsurance is not
- We are not an insurer. We do not underwrite policies, accept premium on risk, or pay claims.
- We are not acting as your regulated insurance broker or insurance intermediary when you use the Service. We do not provide regulated insurance distribution, regulated advice, or a personal recommendation within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/97 (the Insurance Distribution Directive) or its Estonian implementation.
- We are not your financial, tax, legal or medical adviser. Anything we publish is general information, not advice tailored to your personal circumstances.
If you need regulated advice about whether a specific policy is right for you, please speak directly with the carrier, with a licensed broker in your country of residence, or with another appropriately qualified professional.
2.3 How to think about us
A useful comparison: Nomadsurance works like a specialised editorial and comparison site. We help you understand the market, narrow your options, and reach the right carrier. The contract of insurance, when it is concluded, is always between you and the insurance carrier (or, where applicable, a licensed intermediary appointed by that carrier) — not with Nomadsurance.
3. What we do and don't do
3.1 What we do
- Publish guides, country pages and explainers about insurance topics relevant to digital nomads.
- Present a curated selection of international health and travel insurance products.
- Offer tools that let you filter, compare and shortlist options based on the criteria you enter.
- Facilitate an introduction between you and the carrier or licensed intermediary that offers the product you are interested in.
- Where you ask us to, pass on basic information you have provided so that the carrier can prepare a quote or contact you directly.
3.2 What we don't do
- We do not underwrite insurance or issue policies.
- We do not guarantee that any carrier will accept you, offer you cover, or approve a claim.
- We do not guarantee that a particular product is suitable for your personal situation.
- We do not negotiate claims on your behalf, act as your representative in a dispute with a carrier, or stand in for a regulated broker.
- We do not promise that the comparison we show is exhaustive. We work with a selected panel of carriers, and there will always be products in the wider market that we do not feature.
3.3 Information you read on the site
We try hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, but insurance products change frequently and details can shift without notice. The information on Nomadsurance is provided "as is" for general orientation. Always confirm the exact terms, exclusions, prices and conditions with the carrier before you buy.
4. Eligibility
To use the Service you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have full legal capacity to enter into a contract in your country of residence.
- Use the Service for your own personal use, or, where you act on behalf of someone else, have the authority to do so.
We may at any time decline to provide the Service, or restrict access to specific features, if we reasonably believe these conditions are not met.
5. User obligations
When you use the Service you agree to:
5.1 Provide truthful information
Any information you enter into a form, quote tool, account profile or message — for example your age, nationality, residence, travel plans, medical history (where requested), or contact details — must be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Carriers rely on this information to prepare quotes and decide whether to offer cover. Providing false or misleading information can lead to a quote being withdrawn, a policy being voided by the carrier, or claims being denied.
5.2 Use the Service lawfully
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in a way that breaks any law that applies to you.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts, or any part of the Service not intended for you.
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, crawlers other than well-behaved search engine indexers) to harvest content or data from the site.
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, harmful, or designed to deceive other users or carriers.
- Resell, republish, or commercially exploit our content without our prior written permission.
5.3 Keep your account safe
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Let us know promptly at {{ENTITY_EMAIL}} if you suspect unauthorised use.
6. Carrier relationships and commissions
We believe in being upfront about how Nomadsurance makes money. This section is non-negotiable: it tells you exactly how we are paid.
6.1 We are paid by carriers, not by you
You do not pay Nomadsurance to use the Service. Browsing our content, using our comparison tools, and being put in touch with a carrier are free for you.
When you buy a policy from a carrier whose product is featured on Nomadsurance, that carrier (or a licensed intermediary in its distribution chain) typically pays {{ENTITY_NAME}} a commission, referral fee, or similar remuneration. This is the standard way that comparison and introduction platforms in the insurance industry are funded.
6.2 What that means in practice
- The price you pay the carrier is the carrier's published price. Our commission is part of the carrier's distribution cost, not an add-on charged to you.
- Different carriers may pay us different amounts. We do not let commission levels determine the order in which products appear in editorial content, or whether a product is shown to you as a match. Where ordering or matching is influenced by commercial relationships, we will say so on the relevant page.
- We may also earn revenue from advertising, sponsored content (always labelled), and editorial partnerships. We mark commercial content where it appears.
6.3 Independence of carrier decisions
Whether a carrier offers you a policy, on what terms, and at what price, is decided entirely by that carrier. Our commercial relationship with a carrier does not give us any influence over underwriting, pricing or claims handling on your specific case.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
By using the Service you understand and accept that:
- We cannot guarantee that any carrier will offer you a quote or accept you as a customer.
- We cannot guarantee that a quote you receive will be the cheapest, broadest or most suitable cover available in the market.
- We cannot guarantee that a claim you submit to a carrier will be approved. Claims are assessed by the carrier under the terms of your policy.
- We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service. From time to time the site may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.
If you have a problem with a quote, a policy, or a claim, your counterparty is the carrier (or, where applicable, the licensed intermediary that sold you the policy). We are happy to point you to the right contact, but we cannot decide the outcome.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 Our content
All content on Nomadsurance — including text, guides, comparison frameworks, logos, brand elements, illustrations, design, code and the structure of the site — is owned by {{ENTITY_NAME}} or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
You may read our content for personal, non-commercial use, share individual links on social media, and quote short excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. Everything else — including republication, redistribution, training of machine learning models on our content, scraping, or commercial use — requires our prior written permission.
8.2 Your content
Where the Service lets you submit content (for example reviews, comments, testimonials, or messages to carriers), you keep ownership of that content. By submitting it you grant {{ENTITYNAME}} a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the Service. You can ask us to remove your content at any time by writing to {{ENTITYEMAIL}}.
You confirm that any content you submit is yours to share, does not infringe anyone else's rights, and is not unlawful, misleading, or harmful.
8.3 Feedback
If you send us suggestions, feature requests or other feedback about the Service, we may use them without restriction and without any obligation to you. We appreciate it — please keep it coming.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
This section limits our liability. Nothing in it is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded under Estonian law or under mandatory EU consumer protection rules — in particular liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or rights you have as a consumer under Directive 2011/83/EU and its Estonian implementation.
9.1 General disclaimer
The Service, including all content, tools and features, is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about its accuracy, completeness, suitability for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
9.2 No regulated advice
Nothing on Nomadsurance constitutes regulated insurance advice, a personal recommendation, medical advice, tax advice, legal advice, or financial advice. If you need any of these, please consult an appropriately qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
9.3 Carrier errors and acts
We are not liable for the acts, omissions, errors or insolvency of any carrier or other third party introduced through the Service. This includes pricing errors on the carrier's side, refusal of cover, delays in issuing a policy, mishandling of claims, changes to policy terms, or termination of the carrier's products. Your contract is with the carrier and is governed by the carrier's own terms.
9.4 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are liable without limitation for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for damages from injury to life, body or health caused by our negligence, and for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- For damages caused by simple negligence, our liability is limited to damages that were reasonably foreseeable at the time you started using the Service and that result from a breach of a duty essential to the proper performance of the Service.
- Subject to the points above, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to one hundred euros (EUR 100), reflecting the fact that the Service is free of charge to users.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost business opportunities, loss of goodwill, or loss of data, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, your statutory rights are not affected by this section.
10. Dispute resolution
10.1 Talk to us first
If something has gone wrong, please get in touch at {{ENTITY_EMAIL}} before taking any formal step. Most issues can be resolved quickly once we understand them. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five business days.
10.2 Governing law
These Terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
10.3 Courts
Disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, with the Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and we may only sue you in the courts of your country of residence, where mandatory EU consumer protection rules so require.
10.4 EU Online Dispute Resolution
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you have the right to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to attempt an out-of-court settlement of any dispute with us. The ODR platform is available at: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our contact email for ODR purposes is {{ENTITY_EMAIL}}. Please note that we are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, and will decide on a case-by-case basis.
11. Termination and right of withdrawal
11.1 You can stop at any time
You can stop using the Service at any time. If you have an account, you can ask us to delete it by writing to {{ENTITY_EMAIL}}. Deletion of your account does not affect any insurance contract you may have concluded with a carrier — those continue to be governed by the carrier's own terms.
11.2 We may suspend or terminate access
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us or other users to material risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
11.3 Right of withdrawal for consumers (EU)
Because the Service itself is free of charge to users and is not a paid distance contract, the statutory right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU does not, in practice, apply to your use of Nomadsurance. There is nothing to "cancel" with us — you can simply stop using the Service.
Where you conclude an insurance contract through a carrier introduced via Nomadsurance, that contract is a separate agreement between you and the carrier. Insurance contracts are typically subject to their own cooling-off period under EU and national law (often 14 or 30 days, depending on the product and your country). The carrier is required to tell you about this right and how to exercise it. If you are unsure, contact the carrier directly or write to us and we will help you find the right point of contact.
11.4 Surviving sections
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law and dispute resolution — will continue to apply after your use of the Service ends.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in our service, in the law, or in industry practice. The current version is always available at nomadsurance.com/terms, with the "Last updated" date at the top.
Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations and you have an account, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email and, where required by law, the opportunity to reject the change and stop using the Service. Minor edits — clarifications, typo fixes, restructuring — may be made without individual notice.
